Since its initiation in 1998 APIEMS conference is now becoming the premier industrial engineering and management systems conference in the Asia Pacific region. The conference was held every other year until 2004, when the regional demand increased, became an annual event. Since then, the conference has become the major event for international scholars in the areas of Industrial Engineering and Management Science. It has been held successfully in Japan (1999, 2009), Hong Kong (2000), Taiwan (2002, 2007), Australia (2004), the Philippines (2005), Thailand (2006, 2012), Indonesia (2008), Malaysia (2010), and China (2011). In 2013, the conference will be held in the beautifulIsland of Cebu, Republic of the Philippines. Condé Nast Traveler Magazine named Cebu the 7th best island destination in the Indian Ocean-Asia region in 2007.

Nov 23: The free shuttle bus seat slot for foreign delegates on Dec 3 tutorial is now full. Nov 11: Cebu City was spared from direct impact of the two recent major natural attacks - earthquake and super typhoon. Our conference will push through as planned. We thank our colleagues who have written to us and sent their concerns and prayers to the people who were affected. Majority of the victims are from the islands of Bohol, Samar, and Leyte.
