March 22, 2002, the Philippine Institute of Industrial Engineers
(PIIE) held their third National Congress at the EDSA Shangri-La
Hotel.
The
whole day affair session started with the Keynote address of Manuel
A. Roxas II, Secretary of Department of Trade and Industry, followed
by Usec. Fortunato T. dela Peņa of Department of Science and Technology
who talked about "The Role of Industrial Engineering Towards Industrial
Development," and other speakers, namely, Ricardo H. Dujua President
of Solutions 77, Inc., Ian Black Managing Director of SAP Philippines.
The
first session was entitled eBusiness Applications. Their guest
speakers were the following: Dante M. Briones (Chief Operations
Officer of Bayantrade Dotcom), Francis L. Huang (Senior Director
of Andersen), Raul M. Dealino (Vice President of Oriental and
Motolite Corporation), Karen Therese Catalan (Consulting Director
of Asia Online Phils), and Hydie S. Pallasigui (Logistics Applications
Development Manager of T Systems ITC Philippines, Inc.)
Second
session entitled Best Business Practices, had the following speakers:
Enrico C. Mina (VP, Kaizen Management Systems, Inc.), Oliver E.
Sicat (VP for E-Business, SSI), Raymar Marcos S. Padilla (Manager
- Manufacturing Industry, SAP Phils., Inc.) Knestor Y. Godino
(Human Resource & Administration Manager, Splash Manufacturing
Corporation), Franco G. del Rosario (Chief Executive Officer,
Six Sigma Consulting).
