IEs convene for the 3rd Mindanao Congress and the 1st Viz-Min IE Student Assembly  

Professional, practicing and student IEs from the Visayas and Mindanao convened at the SBC Party Venue in Cagayan de Oro City on July 24, 2004 for the 3rd Mindanao IE Congress. At the same time, the First Student IE Assembly for the Southern Philippines was launched. Organized by the PIIE-Cagayan de Oro Chapter (with President Nick Caraquel and Congress Coordinator, Mr. Jo Don Orimoco) in coordination with the Davao and Cebu Chapters, the event was a huge success with the participation of more than three hundred twenty-five (325) delegates coming from the provinces and cities of Leyte, Eastern Visayas, Cebu, Davao, General Santos, Kidapawan, North Cotabato, Dumaguete, Butuan, Zamboanga and Cagayan de Oro. On hand to grace the occasion were the PIIE President, Mr. Elpidio L. Carlota and Mr. Vicente L. Co and Audie Adiviso, both members of the Board of Trustees. During the Congress, the participants were able to receive updates on IE tools and Systems Development. A major part of the program revolved on the on going IE certification program. This year's Students' Assembly introduced the Best IE Project exhibits and Official logo design competition for the 4th Mindanao IE Congress and the 2nd Viz-Min IE Student Assembly which is planned to be held in Davao City sometime in August 2005. The activity ended with a showcase of IE talents and awarding ceremonies.
