CDO Chapter Host CP Workshop

Last April 5, 2003, the PIIE and UNEP together with the CDO chapter conducted a full day workshop on Cleaner Production at the Country Village Hotel, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City. CP expert Professor Anthony Chiu of De La Salle University facilitated said workshop.

The workshop was the second major activity of the CDO chapter following its successful 1st Mindanao General Assembly last July 2002. The Cleaner Production Workshop not only became a venue for continuing education and pursuit of excellence but an opportunity for PIIE members and professionals as well as members of the academe to interact 76 participants attended the activity, 38% were professionals and PIIE members and 62% came from the academic institutions.

Professor Miriam Necesito, PIIE Chair of the Continuing Education Committee and concurrently the Dean of Mapua Institute of Technology Industrial Engineering, gave a talk on PIIE updates. Jo Don Orimaco, PIIE CDO Chapter Board member, chaired the Cleaner Production Workshop.
