CHAPTER
INCORPORATORS MEET
On
December 
11, 2003, eleven Cebu-based Industrial Engineers
from academe and industry met at the Bigby's Café at the
Ayala Center with PIIE Board Member Ms. Miriam Necesito
to thresh out organizational matters to facilitate the
formal launch of the PIIE Cebu Chapter in January next
year.
Mr.
Andre Lim 
(Pacific Traders and Manufacturing Corporation) was elected President of the
group on an interim basis until formal election of the
Chapter Board. Other attendees were Debra Ababon (University
of the Visayas), Jerome Martinez (Lexmark
International), Neil Carapatana (Don Bosco
Technical), Tony Esmero and Dr. Dennis Kilongkilong
(University of San Jose Recoletos), Baby
Lim and Phylis Sia (University of San Carlos),
Alex Ocampo (Fairchild Semiconductors),
Rick Ordoveza (Metro Gaisano) and Aries
Rivero (Cebu Institute of Technology), This
serves as the culmination of efforts started in late 2002.
The establishment of the Cebu Chapter complements the
counterpart organizations in Cagayan de Oro, Davao and
Angeles City. Still in the process of organizing are the
groups in Butuan and Baguio where there are substantial
numbers of practicing Industrial Engineers.
