 On February 4, 2006, the 3rd PIIE Student Congress will be held jointly with the 18th Inter-University Industrial Engineering Quiz Competition at the Valencia Hall of the Bulacan State University. The student congress lectures will be held in the morning while the inter-school quiz bee will take place in the afternoon. The Student Congress will be attended by around 500 participants from the different engineering schools in the country who will be listening to two distinguished speakers Mr. Randy Maranan and Mr. Arturo Santos-Tankia. Maranan will give a talk on IE careers in the service industry while Santos-Tankia’s talk will be about the role of IE in managing supply chain. 21 schools will be vying for this year’s IE Quiz Championship including last year’s champion, University of San Carlos. But of course, last year’s runners-up UP Diliman and DLSU along with the 18 other participating schools will make sure that year’s contest will not be a walk in the park for the defending champion. This event is made possible by the Philippines Institute of Industrial Engineering (PIIE) and this year’s host school, Bulacan State University.
